Exiting changes are coming with Hubzilla 4.0! You won't want to miss out - and you'll want to be ready!
With the weekend approaching - it may be a good chance to set aside some time for some needed maintenance to prepare for Hubzilla 4.0.
Make sure PHP is up to date!
If you're one of those people to subscribe to the motto, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," this is a friendly warning that, "if you are running Hubzilla on PHP 5.x, things WILL break!"
Beginning with 4.0 (including the RC test), you will no longer be able to run Hubzilla on PHP 5.x.
It is imperative that you upgrade to PHP7 before installing Hubzilla 4.0.
PHP 7.2 and 7.3 are recommended.
See here for PHP's Support Calendar: https://secure.php.net/supported-versions.php
PHP 7.3 was recently released and various benchmarks give it a 10-15% performance boost over 7.2.
We'd LOVE to have you join in the release testing!
The more people involved, the more thoroughly everything can be tested before it's released!
