Mmmm. The fruit don't look exactly like the ones we have round here, which are edible but dangerous to harvest (unless you know the trick). If you get got by the spines, they can turn very nasty very quickly.

Yes, This fruit is edible and is very good. this fruit is found in the countryside of Puglia and Sicily predominantly. @

Wear gloves. Cut them off into a bucket of water. After an hour the spines go soft and can be easily scrubbed off with a brush.
