Hello ivan. I find this a bit difficult to address because early death is so often an emotional powderkeg and I, too, mourn Ian Murdock's early death. I am also quite concerned over the growing incidence of police states all around the world. This seems to coincide with a diminishing middle class, as more and more wealth becomes concentrated in the "hands" of an elite few. However, all that said, I actually think it is counter-productive to spread concern over Ian's death as possible murder by police and for several reasons, but mostly based on the fact that there is so little hard evidence for it and considerable answer to the leading questions asked in this video.

Ian suffered from Aspergers and like almost everyone who does are highly subject to self-medication as well as extreme mood swings. It is often noted that there is a very fine line between genius and madness and Aspergers is just one of the conditions that helped create such a cliche. With such a history the police really didn't need to add to what the even may have perceived as a valid threat of exposure by adding hard evidence of the kind murder tends to risk. They could have easily just written him off as a mental case who self-medicated and posted wild, unfounded, contradictory and paranoid tweets and simply assassinated his character.... path of least resistance, right?

Ultimately one has to admit that while it is possible some few police acted on their own and permanently silenced him, there is nothing more than that - mere possibility. Would any of us think it just and fair if we were convicted of a capital crime based on mere possibility?

Look at the comment section of this video on YouTube. The majority by far are by whack job conspiracy theory types that do the cause of Liberty and Justice no benefit, but instead cause harm and make it seem worthy of ridicule. If there is any means by which freedom loving people can organize and resist being marginalized let alone brutalized it is not like this. Please try to be careful, focused, and judicious.

Whoa! Ivan! However did you extrapolate anything I said even remotely justifying a beating? by ANYONE, let alone cops who are supposedly sworn "to protect and serve". I'm quite aware that's quite often not at all how they operate. I merely pointed out that on purely logistical terms murder was not a worthwhile risk. I don't believe Ian was crazy but AFAIK he had been diagnosed with Aspergers which is a serious, mood swinging illness that almost always does result in self-medication which is a mixed bag at best.

FYI, while far from perfect, the so-called Western World's justice system specifically rules out mere possibility and hearsay for not meeting the strict criteria for admissible evidence.

I have no idea why you seem so defensive and hostile over just contemplating whether murder was actually likely. You have my apology for ruffling your feathers Brother. I had no way of knowing you were not open to an objective discussion.

I know almost nothing about Ilya so I can't comment on that tragedy but I do know quite a little about Aaron Schwartz and while I don't think he was murdered in the usual sense I am certain he was pushed to suicide because opponents ruined his life's work and kept him in a long term state of extreme stress.

However that said you are beginning to ruffle my feathers now and not by accident but by overtly accusing and collectivizing me. someone you don't know in the least, as if you know my whole life history. If the society I live in is so unhealthy then why is it such a shock to "meet" someone like you who is so uncaring, intolerant, and obnoxious to leap to conclusions without a shred of evidence and yell "Guilty as charged!"

Don't worry I won't comment on any of your posts ever again. I hope things go better for you in the future so you can lighten the fuck up.

I'm not a member nor a fan of Facebook or Zuckerberg, but I can't imagine anyone thinks it would be fair and just to draw any connection where the sole "evidence" is one benefited from someone else's misfortune. It can sometimes be suspicious but only when there is some other direct connection. It's called "jumping to conclusions" or "grasping at straws", usually on little or no actual evidence but mere speculation. Is that what you would prefer, how you would like to be judged, in a court of Law or even in daily life?

Ivan, requiring oneself to gather evidence isn't convenient at all. It's just more accurate and discriminating. Obviously you disagree since though you don't know me at all you pigeonhole me into your predetermined conclusion of what ALL Westerners must be like. In no way did I defend Mr Zuckerberg nor condemn Ilya. I just refuse to draw a conclusion, especially about something as serious as murder, based on such flimsy evidence. I pointed out that you would be outraged if someone accused and judged you in such a manner, and not just in a matter of opinion but with serious consequences.

That Zuckerberg is a "successful western entrepreneur" has almost nothing to do with my judgment of him. He gets no privilege from me. In fact their is some small degree of suspicion exactly because he is so successful in that it makes him powerful and we all know power tends to corrupt. I actually wish I didn't have such suspicions but too often there is at least something real in it, so I can't ignore the instinct. However, suspicion is hardly the same as conclusion. There is a difference.

Hello again Ivan My intent is not at all to assert that the media has the "real deal" facts of the case. The bottom line is I don't know much about it. I never met Ilya nor the cops who ever arrested him, nor the women he dated, nor the journalist who reported what they heard. I just have vague generalizations, just like you.

I think it's generally true that if more than one doctor says he/she diagnosed an individual with some difficult mental or emotional issues, that might be a hint that that individual's life is complicated and difficult. I think it's generally true that math whiz people are socially awkward. It seems generally true that Genius overlaps with Madness at least a little bit.

That all has a consistency to it that could apply to Ilya's case but again, I don't know and I'm certainly NOT claiming Ilya was a suicide. Neither am I claiming it was murder and especially not going to the full KoolAid leap that Zuckerberg is responsible. Maybe he did. Maybe he didn't. It has yet to be proven.

Here's another generalization and unwarranted, but I think, lesser leap for you - People who embrace murder as a solution don't commonly commit just one. Once a person accepts that competition can be eliminated permanently in that manner, do you imagine a "tool" that powerful will be used but once? That means it's probably decent odds if Zuckerberg is that sort of person, he will dfo it again and gain and eventually become so convinced he can get away with murder with impunity, he WILL fuck up and there WILL be hard evidence. He WILL then face justice, IF that's the sort of person he is. I don't know... never met the man. I would tend to think some of his "friends" would describe him as "scary" or at least "kinda creepy" id he were like that. I don't see that news bulletin anywhere from any source, even from those sources that hate him and social media in general.

Why can't you admit it? You, too, have some basic assumptions and see the world through those eyes, just like everybody else... or do you really imagine that somehow one's geography produces hundreds of millions of people who are essentially all the same? Since your command of English is quite good, I'm sure you realize that "prejudice" is derived from the same fundamentals a "pre judge", right? Maybe, just maybe, that's just a wee bit involved here, yeah?

once Ivan showed up in my early posts and asked me to include him in to my friends circle. i was very green here that times and was too naive, i did it. later he start stabbing me in my back without reason, attacking me in public and painted me by his sht very aggressively make people go away from me. i asked him many times to stop doing this but he sadistically laughed on me ans said in ultimatum form "NO! i will follow you and i will keep harassing you, for make sure you will not spread any info here about 'plasma scientists" anymore, which i was trying to share with people. its how he literally destroyed my life on D* two years ago. i suffered tree times deep depression about his multiple attacks. when later i told him that he just laughed to my face. he not feel sorry about what he's done. later i find many more people here which he did same to them. very darky soul and extremely smart manipulator. evil, 100%. and now this guy (same person or group of them behind this nick, we don't know for sure) trying to lift up "smart talks" and create good legend for cover up his self. no one must trust him. also he only criticised "westerns" but never his own oligarchy money mafia manipulators. its just not good for him to talk about what his own hoverments doing bad to his own nation. double-faced manipulator, obviously.

You are correct Ivan. I did get confused. I had to scroll back to discover how we began discussing Ilya in a thread about Ian. I know even less about Ilya but I am sorry for your loss.

I would like to note that commonly when foreign visitors, even just tourists, come to a bad end while in the US, though pretty rare, when it does happen it is treated as potentially an International Incident. Given that Zuckerberg was brought in front of a Congressional Investigation for a far lesser offense than murder, I don't see that he would enjoy any manner of privilege in matters as extreme as International effects.

You may know and recall that Ted Kennedy, though possibly successful at covering up his complicity in an accidental manslaughter case of a US citizen, some relatively unknown, socially unimportant, woman, that he was hounded and haunted by the incident for 60 years. It is simply not so that even small transgressions or improprieties get buried and forgotten.

Certainly the Eppstein case is an exception but I think that is a combination of International bigwigs who wish to see it buried, and people who don't care or are even glad a pedophile pimp "got his just desserts".

None of that applies to Ilya as far as I can see. If there was any weakness or impropriety in such a case it would be BIG news by some, you can bet on that!... especially considering the number of jealous enemies Zuckerberg has. The Establishment doesn't welcome newcomers, especially those not in the Social Register. Politicians are often flash-in-the-pan bad actors that come and go. Corporations are often positively Feudal and live in fortresses. If some "feudal lord" thought he had dirt to destroy Zuckerberg, it would be fait accompli. At the very least it would be in the News and likely not just in the US.

For me this is not surprising. In my opinion, it is a expression of one of the mechanisms for protecting the psyche. You are most likely an attentive person. And this inattention is the result of emotions that have superseded some previously published information and combined it with another story when you resumed your attention to this topic. This is a natural response due to the traumatic nature of the information provided and its communication with the authorities. Perhaps my assumptions are based on my personal experience - as i myself have previously encountered this kind of involuntary displacement of traumatic information.

As far as i am aware, this is not exactly the case in the West. Corruption and nepotism are flourishing, and let out on bail and lobbying are official and legal methods.
